      Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD, is a syndrome that makes sustaining attention difficult. With a quick google search, about 6.1 million children in the United States have Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). That's about 9.4% of children between 2-17 to have ever been diagnosed in a 2016 study by the CDC. It must be prescribed by a medical professional and is not supposed to substitute for a child's regular medications, meaning it is not a stand-alone treatment.    

    EndeavorRx is a challenging, immersive video game created to formally target areas of the brain that play a significant role in attention function. Kids are challenged within the app to multitask and "ignore" distractions. The app is available with progress tracking and measures performances in real time for a customized treatment plan. This immersive video game development can be used on almost any smart-electronic device for easy access to the prescription. Kids play this for up to 25 minutes a day, five times a week, for four weeks (or as prescribed by a doctor). 

    The video game, EndeavorRx, has had 0 adverse effects in any of its clinical trials. 70% of kids reported improvements in their attention, and 68% of parents reported improvements in impairments caused by ADHD. Who could have thought that neuroscientists and video game developers would develop a fantastic game to help benefit children struggling with ADHD? We all know kids love games, and what better way to help them through treatment with something they can constantly be invested in and interested in playing.
